Nutritional Counseling

Nutrition is an essential part of your overall health and fitness and a critical component of a successful weight loss program. As a client at Couture, you will feel and see the difference of working with a nutritionist to compliment your physical fitness program. Our approach helps teach you how to establish a healthy balanced diet so that you can be successful at realizing lasting weight loss.

What to Expect: During your first weeks, your nutritionist will complete an analysis of your diet and develop an action plan. We will teach you how to monitor your caloric intake and suggest heath promoting additions to your diet and nutrition. For clients with specific medical conditions such as hypertension and high cholesterol, specific resources and guidance will be provided. Your nutritionist will continue to keep track of your progress and make adjustments as needed to keep you advancing towards your goals.

Weight Loss

Most of us have tried and lost weight dieting, however, the greatest challenge is in maintaining the weight loss over months and years. Fundamental to our philosophy is the idea that you will always choose to enjoy life. This means any changes that we help you introduce to your lifestyle and diet must be welcomed and enjoyed or they will not be lasting. So, our approach to weight loss is more about finesse. It emphasizes teaching how to eat healthier and reinforcing lasting therapeutic behavior, rather than prescribing a restrictive diet. Remember, if you feel hungry, or find any dietary changes difficult, then it is not going to work for you in the long term.

What many of us do not realize is that just 15 excess calories per day can result in 1-2 lbs of weight gain each year. 15 calories are easy to remove from one’s diet; in fact, most of our clients find that we can glean hundreds of calories from their diet without feeling restricted. Interestingly, as your fitness level increases and you start losing weight, our clients typically report feeling less hungry and eating less.

How Much Weight Loss to Expect: While everyone is different, we are proud to say that virtually all of our clients reach their goals and that our results tend to exceed those reported by most clinical weight loss programs. In addition, because we track all of our client’s progress, we can use this data to realistically predict the average weight loss that you can expect while in the program.
